The Englefield Palace, the current seat of the Università Popolare della Terza Età in Rome, is located between Via IV Novembre, Via Nazionale and Via XXIV Maggio.
The name of Via IV Novembre derives from the armistice between Italy and Austria signed on 3 November 1918, but which came into force on 4 November 1918. In the beginning, the street was an extension of Via Nazionale.
RESTORATION WORK
Vivenda‘s action was carried out with an initial overhaul of the plasterwork, the slate cladding of the cornices and frames, as well as all elements on the building façade.
The damaged or deteriorated parts were then restored and the sculptural elements were treated through cleaning and removal of layers using a low-pressure system.
The façades were painted with lime milk and natural earths to reproduce the same colouring previously approved in the 2001 maintenance work by the Sopraintendenza alle Belle Arti e Paesaggio.
