The conservative restoration works, completed with the utmost respect for historical authenticity, took place in the very heart of Rome, at Campo de’ Fiori. Every operation followed the principles of minimal intervention, reversibility, and compatibility with the original materials, avoiding any invasive actions while preserving the historical value of the site.
The plaster was cleaned and consolidated, with integrations limited to the most deteriorated and unstable areas, restoring strength without altering the original appearance. Surfaces damaged by humidity or rust stains were treated with delicate interventions, allowing for better observation of the constitutive materials and the state of preservation.
The painted wooden window frames and shutters were revised and restored with oleosynthetic varnish, addressing degradation caused by atmospheric agents and natural aging. Each window underwent inspection and restoration, ensuring both durability and beauty.
This restoration has enriched the context of Campo de’ Fiori, improving the square’s appearance and blending harmoniously with the surrounding environment. The intervention fully adhered to the NORMAL Recommendations, preserving the historical integrity of the building while ensuring compatibility with the original materials.
