Rome, March 2025 – After a careful restoration, the building at number 90 in Piazza di Spagna is now presented in all its renewed beauty. The historic building, which overlooks the famous Roman square, has been the subject of a careful operation to restore the facades, restoring decoration and architectural value to one of the most fascinating views of the old town.
The interventions have concerned in particular the friezes and cornice, restored to their original integrity through a meticulous re-gaging and restoration of lost moldings. Each element has been treated with materials compatible with the historical ones, guaranteeing an authentic result and respectful of the Roman construction tradition. The work on the cornices also included the reconstruction of degraded parts and the protection of the sporti, fundamental for the architectural reading of the prospectus.
The plaster, now compromised by years of exposure to atmospheric agents, has been cleaned, consolidated and painted, recovering the original tones thanks to a careful stratigraphic analysis. The intervention followed the principles of minimal impact and reversibility, under constant supervision by the Superintendent, in order to preserve the historical value of the property.
With the completion of the restoration, the building in Piazza di Spagna 90 is again an example of architectural elegance, perfectly inserted in the monumental context of the square, between the majestic Scalinata di Trinità dei Monti and the historic Fontana della Barcaccia. A recovery that adds new splendor to one of the most loved and photographed corners of Rome.
